So when I first heard about us having a golfing “morale” event I was a little skeptical. I mean we will get out of the office, but will it really be any fun? I have never played golf and it isn’t something I thought I needed to do. Friday was the morale event and it started out gray and a little drizzly. The first tee off I took several swings missing each time before I finally hit it. It went flying off! Into the bushes… When I went to find my ball I instead found a “Noodle” ball. Over the next couple holes I said that any of my “good” hits were because of Noodle. For some reason this ball became my mascot. I mean why not? It has a funny name. I believe hole 7 had a river running along the right had side, and I always hook very hard to the right, so I lost Noodle. It was a very sad moment.
We were playing scramble rules, or at least a form of them. I was just proud to have a handful of times where my ball was the furthest, so we used it. I think we ultimately were 27 points over par. But it turns out I did have a good time!
